Rosita Fernandez papers, 1925-2000.

The collection contains honors and awards, photographs and photo albums, a large-size scrapbook, newspaper clippings, publicity materials, correspondence, and ephemera of this singer, entertainer, humanitarian and pioneer of Tejano music. The papers document Rosita's sixty-year musical career performing on film, television, radio, and stage, and document her activities after retirement in 1982. The bulk of the collection consists of Rosita's honors and awards in the form of plaques, but also award ceremony programs, certificates, proclamations, and trophies. While the photographs in the collection offer excellent visual information about costumes, costars, sets, and places of performance through the years, the scrapbook contains a chronological series of clippings that provide detailed information about Rosita's performance and appearances.
